Whether you are interested in recreational shooting, competition, hunting, gun collecting, historical reenactment, home safety, or personal protection - the basics are where to start! NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses teach you the safety principles and help you develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude that are needed to successfully pursue your shooting interests.

CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS PERMIT
This 8 hour class is required for your Arizona CCW Permit which is issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

• This course includes 1 class, both theoretical and practical.
• The cost of the full course is $100 – AZ CCW paperwork & certificate included

NRA HOME FIREARM SAFETY COURSE
Learn the basic principles of firearm safety within the home.

Learn: the basic elements of gun safety and the fundamental rules of safe gun handling; how to identify & unload different types of firearms and the ammo they use; how to clean & care for guns and the different gun storage options.

• This course includes 1 theoretical class.
• The cost of the full course is $75 – NRA course materials & certificate included

NRA BASIC PISTOL COURSE
Learn to shoot a pistol safely and effectively. This course offers the fundamentals of handgun marksmanship.

Learn the fundamentals of marksmanship & the safe handling, care, and storage of your firearms. Course lessons cover pistol knowledge, safe gun handling, ammunition knowledge, fundamentals of pistol shooting, firing first shots, two-handed & one-handed standing shooting positions, and pistol sports and activities.

• This course includes 1 theoretical and 1 practical class.
• The cost of the full course is $175 + $15 range fee – NRA course materials & certificate included

NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME
Learn the basic principles essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family.

Learn: basic defensive handgun skills; strategies for home safety and how to respond to a violent confrontation; what to look for when selecting a handgun for self-defense; information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense.

• This course includes 1 theoretical and 1 practical class.
• The cost of the full course is $200 + $30 range fee – NRA course materials & certificate included

NRA BASIC RIFLE COURSE
Learn to shoot a rifle safely and effectively. This course serves as a great way to introduce new shooters and hunters to rifles and their safe operation and handling.

Learn the fundamentals of four-position rifle shooting for sport, competition shooting, or hunting. This course also includes live-firing with a .22 rifle from each of these positions. Naturally the elements of safe gun handling are emphasized along with the safe storage, cleaning and maintenance of a rifle.

Learn to basics of safe shotgun shooting and learn to hit moving aerial clay targets.

Learn: the types of shotguns, their actions and how to safely operate each; loading and unloading; the different types of ammunition, their components and intended uses; the fundamentals of shotgun shooting; how to hit a moving target.

• This course includes 1 theoretical and 1 practical class.

INTERMEDIATE TACTICAL PISTOL
Utilizing proven techniques, you will further develop your gun-handling skills, mindset, markmanship and tactical wisdom. One-on-one instruction and guidance will help yougo beyond the basics and into real life self-defense situations.

Learn intermediate defensive handgun skills, work from a holster and concealment, proper use of cover and conealment, rapid presentation techniques from a holster while under 'Survival Stress Conditions', defensive pistol theory, and courses of fire while working from concealed carry. Engage in 'Force-on-Force' tactical training senerios with Airsoft pistols to simulate real world encounters.

• This course includes 1 class, both theoretical and practical.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE SHOOTING RANGE
You will need:
• Hat (Baseball Hat is highly recommended)
• Eye Protection (Sunglasses or shooting, safety glasses w/ clear lenses)
• Sturdy closed-toe shoes (no sandles or flip-flops)
• Hearing protection (ear plugs are available at Sporting Goods/Gun Stores)
• Strong sturdy belt (11/2 to 2 inches wide)
• Holster (*)
• Mag pouches (*)
• Pistol (*) / Shotgun
• Appropriate ammo (see rounds needed for the specific courses listed above)
• Cleaning kit for your pistol / shotgun
 
We also recommend that you bring:
• Food / Snacks
• Drinking Water (at least 1 gallon)
• Cooler (for the water & snacks)
• Chair
 

(*) If you do not have a pistol, you may rent one (.45 1911 Single Stacks are available). The rental fee is $35.00. We will need to be informed prior to the course if you need to rent a gun. We also have some holsters and mag pouches you may borrow. If you rent a gun, you will need to buy the appropriate rounds of .45ACP FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) -- see bullets under the different courses. Renters are responsible for the proper cleaning of the gun after the shoot. Please if you would like to rent a gun.
